The Search for the Best Sippy Cup

My older kids are die-hard bottle-fed babies and even into their early toddler years.  But the case is different with my 3rd child.  He refuses to drink from a bottle and if he does, he drinks it while sitting upright.  So, I've been thinking that he'll probably dig drinking from a sippy cup.  But the question is, which cup?  Some babies are just plain choosy like mine.  A few tries with different brands might help.  Babble.com listed 10 best sippy cups that are guaranteed to make your baby smile.

Freebie Friday: LABELS

Hubby is away for 2 weeks, and while I'm posting this, I'm also feeding my 2 toddlers.  My 1 year old has a new fascination--spitting his food.  He loves it, the ants love it while I cringe.  So when I'm feeding him, I resort to trickery which thankfully, works most of the time.  This week, I'm counting the days like craaazy until hubby gets home from his work assignment.  I've never been away from hubby this long, not to mention alone with the kids for 2 weeks, that is why I'm glad that today is Friday, that means tomorrow he's home again.  Yay!  While I counted the days, I did well with my time creating digital cuteness!  I've been practicing drawing cartoons but I have wobbly hands..so..I'm putting that aside until the urge steps back in.  But I'm proud to say that I made one, successfully, and that's that cartoon on my header.  I finished it with wobbly hands and all.  Just this morning, I made labels.  Just 5 because Korby wailed for attention.  And as usual, I'm posting them here on my blog.  Someone might need them.  Hehe..  So here they are!

A Head Start in your Driving Tests

I admit, I don't know how to drive. I know it's embarrassing. And even if I want to learn and did want to learn, no one is willing to teach me.  I begged my dad when I was still in college to teach me but he thinks I'm jumpy and therefore , can't be a good driver.  I never got around persuading him more.  It was either I got caught up with life or given up my dream of being the queen of the road.  But I still don't think I'm that jumpy really.  I swear, I'm going to learn how to drive by the time I reach 30 which is 3 years from now.(gulp!) In the Philippines, it isn't quite a huge hassle when you want to get a driver's license.  And people said that the tests aren't difficult anyway so there's always a guarantee that you will pass.  In other countries however, it's an entirely different issue. In the United States, for you to savor your moments on the wheels, you first have to pass a written exam conducted by the Department of Motor Vehicles.  For someone to pass a written exam or just any other test, the keyword here is PREPARATION.  For a new driver, frightened and not to mention stressed to venture into the unknown, this can be downright mind-boggling.  The written road test is usually comprised of questions regarding those expected and unexpected situations you may face on the road and the rules with driving in your state. In moments like these, don't you just wish you have something in hand to save you from all the hassle and pain with studying?  Luckily, I found a website that could be of help.  Introducing, DMV CHEAT SHEETS.  You might say that it sounds bad, that a cheat sheet is synonymous to well, cheating? But anyway, when you want to prepare for something big such as passing a written exam for driving, you might as well prepare hard! Not only will a DMV Cheat Sheet guarantee you’ll ace the exam, it offers a list of DMV fees, steps on getting your license and what you’ll need to bring with you on test day. It's important to know the requirements beforehand so you only have to make one trip to the DMV though. Studying the state’s driver’s manual or DMV handbook takes hours. Studying a DMV Cheat Sheet takes minutes, and you are guaranteed to pass. Plus DMV Cheat Sheets offers you 50 essential study-guide questions and a test prep including traffic signs and signals. It's just easy, too easy if I may say, just go to the DMV CHEAT SHEETS website, DMV STUDY GUIDE,  and from there, you'll see a list of states. Just click on the state where you belong.  Most importantly, practice makes purr-fect!  So when you get hold of your cheat sheet, it might be best to take countless practice tests to build up your sense of calmness in the state of a frightening moment.  Happy Driving!

Cute Fonts For All Days

I didn't know I could get by a week without internet access but I did anyway.  The family spent a week at my parents place because hubby had to go to Ormoc City for a work assignment and I needed lots of reinforcements to get by.  I was meaning to get my scrappy projects done, this time I'm making scrap elements, but wasn't able to because Korby kept crawling and walking all over the place and I was scared that he'd break something.  Kliven, my 2 year old was at his best behavior and pretending to be in-charge while daddy's gone and Khym, my 7 year old was always outside frying under the sun with his friends.  I thought I would be able to get things done but had to postpone things some other time when my other half's going to be home.  For now, we're back to our apartment while daddy's still away.  And there's so much to be done.  Apart from posting again on this blog, I'm also juggling hubby's blogs on one hand because he's busy at work.  I'm getting back to my "projects" and realized that I needed fonts.  I'm always "font-hungry", if ever there's such a thing. I've always been particular with my fonts because I'm always creating invitations and other scrappy stuff for fun.  My favorite font at the moment is VANILLA which I used on my header above.

There are lots of fun fonts however that are free for download.  While big sites are oozing with them, I came upon this blog with dozens of hand-picked fonts.  I really prefer hand-picked goodness because they narrow down my choices and I don't have to squint my eyes and get really woozy in choosing.  If you want fun fonts, please check out this blog, PHOTOSHOP PHOTOGRAPHY AND ALL THINGS IN BETWEEN.

I'm going to call it a night.  It's 3.44 am and it's time to hit the sack *yawns!* Morn-night! :))

Busybee

Yes, I've been busy.  There was my youngest's 1st birthday celebration and a whole lot of mommy times that kept me off the internet for days.  But it's good to be back on posting.   My Korby turned one the last week of July.

We weren't really planning for a huge bash because we had a party the month before-my other 2 boys' joint birthday celebration.  This time, we kept the party intimate.  It was just mainly close friends and family.  Well, the birthday celebrant slept the entire time.  LOL.  The cake was baked with love by a relative who is now making a name for herself in the cake industry here in our city.  I love her cakes because they're yummy and packed with a whole lot of chocolate goodness.  As the night ended, we had plenty of party leftovers enough for another feast the next day.  I remembered my other two son's birthdays when there were barely any scraps left.  It was a fun night.  So now, I officially have 2 toddlers at home.  Talk about chaotic.  My two year old and my one year old now fights over everything!  Toys, the remote, food, crayons, space, binkies, attention..the list goes on!  But there are also times when they're uber sweet.  Kids are an amusing bunch.  Which probably inspired me to doodle and illustrate kids and babies.  Here's one of my creations.  GIFT TAGS for baby gifts.  Just download and print directly.  I hope you like them.
